"Askerne Winery was one of the best wine tasting experiences we’ve had traveling the world. We were able to do a tasting of just red wines. We really enjoyed the idea of giving you a flight of 5 wines to taste. Also we enjoyed being able to create our own charcuterie board buying from their deli with a nice variety. They supply the board, plates, and anything else you may need. We really the wine and bought many bottles. A big Mahalo to Di who was very helpful, and very enjoyable to chat with. If you want a low key, quality experience this is the place for you."

"Lovely little place, very nice wines. This stop was part of a tour by Ross of "Vines & Tours". Very friendly hostess, with several tastings from Sauv Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Merlot, Cab Franc, Bordeaux style red, and a dessert wine. All very good! A nice end to a great Town & Country tour."

Askerne Estate Winery has been family-owned and operated since 1993, when John and Kathryn Loughlin first planted vines on the reclaimed riverbeds of the Tuki Tuki near Havelock North.
"Every bottle we craft comes from this single 20-hectare vineyard, shaped by its unique soils and coastal influences.
While we are proud of our award-winning aromatic whites, Chardonnay, reds and dessert wines, we are just as proud of the experience we offer when you visit. Our cellar door is dog friendly, family friendly, wheelchair accessible, and easily reached via the local cycleway. We invite you to come, relax and enjoy the wines, the view, and the company."
